About The Artist

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It is a gift that has always come easily for me. I was a quiet child who would much rather sit and draw than do anything else. I have always been drawn to color and form, and have had an enduring interest in illustrating the human face.
Born in 1971, I grew up in the small town of Point Pleasant, N.J., and have lived at the Jersey shore for most of my life. As a self-taught artist, I expressed my creativity through practicing any form of art I could get my hands on! In 1997, I landed a job with a local newspaper, doing graphic design, and finally got my chance to shine. I married my husband Michael in 2001, and continued to work until the birth of my son in 2002.
It was not until July 2006 that I started to sculpt. My sculpting experience up until then was limited to my annual "mashed potato" sculpture on Thanksgiving day when I was a teen! A close artist friend encouraged me to try my hand at sculpting dolls. By then, I was a busy mom of two, and hardly had time to think! I craved a new artistic challenge, so using my skills to recapture the sweet, fleeting moments of infancy in clay appealed to me. Of course, I fell in love with making dolls immediately, and started successfully selling them on eBay!
All of my babies are brought to life in my Brick, New Jersey home. No molds are ever used in the creation of my OOAK dolls. When I am sculpting, it is as if my hands are being guided by the personality of the baby I am creating. It is an amazing feeling to watch one of these precious little "people" emerge. In a strange sort of way, it really is like giving birth - to art! My REAL children, Nicholas and Danica, are my inspiration to continue.
In June of 2007, I signed with Masterpiece Dolls, who will be reproducing limited editions of some of my babies in silicone/vinyl over the next few years. It is truly an honor for me to be able to share my art with so many! I hope that my dolls will put a smile on your face.
Please have a look around the site - and check back from time to time if you like what you see. I will be adding more babies as they are "born."
